MARYLAND RESIDENTS: Participants must take this course prior to purchasing a handgun. Beginner to Advanced level course for MEN and women.
Four hour Maryland Handgun Qualificaton License Course extensively covers handgun safety, shooting fundamentals, handgun selection, ammunition, holsters and purses, malfunctions, escalation of force and relevant Maryland
laws. This course meets the training requirements to submit application for MD HQL Permit for firearm purchase, including required Live-Fire Portion.
Live Fire portion of course will be scheduled at On Target Range, Severn Square Shopping Center, 2618 Annapolis Rd, Severn, MD. This schedule will be discussed during classroom portion to find ideal time for scheduling following the classroom instruction. *Ammunition Cost and Range Fees not Included. Candidates will learn NRA policies and procedures, basic public speaking skills, training methodology, use of a training team, training aids, course organization, budget considerations, and how to prepare to instruct an initial basic pistol course to individuals with little or no experience. Candidates can also expect to learn the NRA discipline specific instructional methods and evaluating and improving the performance of beginning shooters. Candidates take turns working in teams, actually conducting portions of the course to other candidates who portray basic students.
